Charles Barnum Magnet School is dedicated to providing educational experiences that foster discovery through creativity, curiosity, and exploration. Student-led learning experiences help each student find their own gifts, talents, and interests. We proudly nurture a learning environment, rooted in optimism, where all children can engage, connect, explore, and reach their full potential
Dr. Charles Barnum also has a strong connection with our military families; through our Anchored for Life Program, we help our students with the challenges of transient life. We believe our school is much more than just a building. Our “Life is Good” focus can be seen throughout our interactions among staff and students as well as our relationships with families and the community.

We are excited to announce the expansion of our World Language Program to all five elementary schools. Beginning today, all Groton 4th and 5th graders are being introduced to both French and Spanish, and will have a full semester of each language taught by our world language teachers. We hope to build a love and curiosity for the French and Spanish languages that our students will carry as they rise into middle and high school.
